Principal Investigator
Dr Pramoda Kumar
Dr. Kumar is an Assistant Professor of Physics at Ashoka University, where he leads the Soft and Active Matter Physics Lab. He earned his PhD from the Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences (CeNS), formerly the Centre for Liquid Crystal Research, Bangalore. He subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at several prestigious institutions, including the Max Planck Institute for Dynamics and Self-Organization (MPI-DS, Göttingen), the Weizmann Institute of Science, Harvard University, and Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. His research focuses on experimental soft condensed matter physics, pattern formation in dissipative and active systems, interfacial instabilities, charge transport phenomena in ion- selective membranes, and non-Newtonian hydrodynamics, with a particular emphasis on lubricated gravity currents.
